Like many designers, my career began in an unexpected place. At just 18, I started a 15-year career as a card dealer. What I thought would be just a job became an incredible training ground to:

• Connect with people from all walks of life

• Handle challenging situations with grace and positivity

• Hone attention to detail, juggling strict procedures, math, and customer service

It was never a dull day, and those skills laid the foundation for my dream career in design.

I then decided it was time to nurture my creative side. I earned my BFA in Interior Design from the Art Institute of Seattle, fulfilling my fifth-grade yearbook dream of becoming an interior designer. Following school, I spent eight years at the renowned residential firm Seriously Happy Homes, growing from intern to Senior Designer. There, I gained invaluable experience and learned to lead projects from concept to completion.

When the company closed in 2023 (as the founder moved to Paris—fun!), I launched Mason Design Studio. Now, I get to help my clients create homes they truly love coming home to.
