How do you determine your design fees? Do you charge hourly?
Following your Initial Consultation, I will return to the office and prepare a comprehensive Design Agreement outlining the scope of work for your project. This agreement will include a flat-fee rate based on the anticipated number of hours required to complete your project. One of the advantages to a flat-fee structure is you won't encounter unexpected hourly charges.
How do you ensure I’m happy with the final design?
Prior to initiating the design process, we ask our clients assemble a collection of ideabooks, serving as a direct wellspring of inspiration for our designs! Your ideabooks play a crucial role as you are our design partners, and effectively conveying your design preferences through this exercise is paramount for a successful outcome. In addition to this, we incorporate revisions to refine the presented design and align it with your home and design vision!
How long does the design process take?
Typically, it takes about 10-12 weeks from the Measurement Meeting to get your final design file in hand. The goal is to get you into execution phase as swiftly as possible!
What do I get at the end of our design time together?
You will receive a comprehensive PDF design file that you can pass off to contractors for estimating the labor and execution of your project (or DIY). This file will encompass detailed layouts, a shopping list featuring selected finishes, fixtures, and furnishings, along with any other essential information required for the successful completion of your project.
Do you offer project management?
We are a design only firm that loves to collaborate with clients who are proactive in making purchases and liaising directly with their contractors to complete projects. They seek assistance in crafting an excellent and actionable plan but prefer to avoid the costs and markups associated with conventional interior design and project management.
What happens if an item goes out of stock?
If an item from your design plans goes out of stock or is discontinued, don't worry! Within 90 days of the Initial Presentation meeting, we're happy to re-source a new option at no additional design fees.
Do you offer furnishings procurement?
Nope, but that a a positive aspect! As part of my design philosophy, I prioritize transparency. This deliberate choice ensures that my recommendations remain unbiased and solely focused on fulfilling your design vision, without any influence from commission-based arrangements with furniture vendors. Instead, I empower clients with the freedom to choose where to procure furnishings, allowing them to make informed decisions that best suit their preferences and budget.
